I am using "Allianz world cover" as provided by my company.
Excellent cover levels and you deal with the call center in dublin.
I have had claims dealt with by email using scanned receipts and all was reimbursed inside 2 weeks.
very impressed so far. -

Does anyone know anything about the new Irihs Embassey here in Qatar?
New Ambassador Ciaran Kennedy presented his credentials to the Emir last week but no contact info available on the net so far -

Hi John,
I'm here about 3 months too but have been overseas for 2.5 years. In that time I've used VHI Global cover, can't really comment on it as, thankfully, I haven't needed it in the time I've been away. The Global Policy allows covers travel insurance so might be worth checking out expecially if you're already a VHI member.
Best wishes,
Aidin. -

Hi all,
My husband and I are moving to Qatar in October. Just wondering if you have any advice on things we should think of bringing with us from home that you either can't get in Qatar or is just too expensive...
Thanks a mill :)

Hi Lorraine, I've been here since April, so far I haven't been able to get E45 or scooters for Kids, ages 9 & 11, I'm back in Ireland now, so I'm bringing the scooters back, handy for the kids, when you want to walk the corniche. I'd stock on Dunnes and Pennys cheapy clothes aswell, especially if you have childres, there is great shopping in Doha, but nothing as cheap.

Thanks a mill for that. We don't have kids yet but heads up on E45 is great as hubby is a big user so will stock up, likewise penny and dunnes bits and pieces
Thanks again

Lorraine,
If you're into cooking, pick up some real Vanilla Escence at home. You can buy almost anything here, but pricey!
